Maybe it's proof that I'm actually knitting... or proof of startititis... or just plain old proof of my lack of mental stability.
This is about 4 feet of Sharfik for my Dad...
The pattern is from the inimitable Grumperina. Mine isn't blocked so you can't really get the whole way the broken rib really works to make this a very masculine scarf. Perfect for Dad. Then there is the whole other Grumperina project... the one many people are tappin' their toes over... maybe even tappin' with their dpns... figured you'd know what I mean... and, well, I can't show you that one. But trust me, it's pretty.
Then there's Backyard Leaves for Marc's mom...
This one is going to need just a wee bit of blocking... but I just love how the pattern emerges. Knitting on the two different scarves is a bit trippy... Sharfik I'm knitting Combination Method, which is the way I learned to knit and frankly, is a lot faster. But Backyard Leaves I'm knitting Continental. There are so many different decreases going on, that it's just easier to knit Continental than trying to translate for Combination knitting. (*Given that Combined knitting actually twists then untwists the stitches, the decreases come out slanting the opposite direction than they do in Continental knitting... so you pretty much have to translate to another decrease. Too dang much to keep track of with all the decreasing going on in this pattern.)
Luckily though, I've gotten pretty darn quick knitting Continental style, what with all the socks and mittens... and oh yeah, did I mention there is also the progress on the second Waving Lace sock, and the second Frostrosen Mitten? Yeah. Knitting on those too. No pictures on that progress, since the second ones look pretty much exactly like the first ones...
Then there are the things that aren't being knit yet, because, hey, even I can only take so much:
- Holiday Sox Exchange Socks... got the yarn today from Dani and her Sunshine Yarns. Perfect, perfect yarn for my Sock Exchange Pal. These I can't wait to start! (And since they are due to be sent out by December 16th, I kinda sorta better start...)
- Christmas Style Fuzzy Feet.... waiting for my 10.5 dpns to come in.
- Yet another Sharfik for Marc's dad...
- And, um, the now with exact knitting specifications Cap and v-neck vest for Marc.
Oh yeah. Proof of impending insanity. Nothing a little egg nog with a healthy shot of brandy won't cure though...

Ever since I got Scarf Style book I am hoping to knit me that Backyard l. scarf. It really is wonderful pattern!
Can't wait to see the finished work!

Wow, there's a lot on your plate right now, huh? Hope you're keeping it all straight, we wouldn't want you to cable the mitten and color strand the scarf. hee.
