This is the first of the finished Waving Lace Socks, including my puppetlike showing off of my kitchenered toe. Woo Hoo! It took some practicing, but I think I've got this grafting thing down. And thanks to all of you that recommended it - it does look like magic the way the knitting just looks continuous. (Funny how little things completely make me this happy.) I'm casting on for the second one tonight, so I'll have 2 finished pairs of socks started during Socktober. Thanks, Lolly, for such a fun knitalong!
Laura tagged me for a meme - so here goes...
1. What is your favorite yarn to knit with? I don't know if I can pick just one... so I'm picking three: Rowan Calmer, Jo Sharp Silkroad Tweed, and of course, Rowan Kidsilk Haze.
2. Favorite Needles? Addi Turbos.
3. What's the worst thing you've ever knit? Yeesh. I'd have to say it was a Tahki pattern I knit in February - it was one of those that looked so great in the picture... then in reality... scary.
This was from the Fall/Winter 2004 Collection, knit with Primo held double, then the fringe was done in Hopla. I had this idea that it would look great in black and white, but it just looks garish, and the Hopla is, well, weird.
And so is the construction. The front panel wraps around to the back and joins the top of the sleeve. I guess it's supposed to be a twist on a raglan, but wears really strangely - the whole thing pulls toward the back. I should just rip the whole thing out - the Primo is really nice yarn and I will never, never wear this thing.
4. Favorite Pattern? Most fun to knit? Definitely Butterfly - both for favorite and most fun.
5. Most valuable knitting technique? I don't know if it's the most valuable, but I think my favorite is 3-needle bind off.
6. Best Knit book or Magazine? The Knitter's Book of Finishing Techniques, by Nancie Weisman.
7. Favorite Knitalong? Socktoberfest, of course!
8. Favorite Knitblogs? There are too many to name...
9. Favorite Knitwear Designer? Kim Hargreaves
10. Knit Item you wear the most? Elfin - love those ruffles!
All right, I suppose I should tag people now... so, Nada, Kathy, Eunny, and Jacqueline - you are tagged! (I wanna know what you have to say!)
And thanks for all the birthday wishes - I spent the day sick and in bed, so we're off to celebrate tonight!

Your wavy sock look so fab! I love it! Way to go on the K-stitch too!

Calmer and KSH...two out of three. We definitely have similar yarn tastes! :-)

What's not to like about Calmer and Jo Sharp?
I have a Jo Sharp Problem, actually....you should see the yarn closet. 3 kinds of Silkroad Aran, one of Silkroad DK Tweed, 2 DK merino, one Silkraod Ultra and two Desert Cotton. Off the top of my head.
That's a bit embarrassing.
The sock toe looks good - I am full of admiration, having spent the weekeend avoiding casting on for my first sock.
